TJ Carlini

Chief Operations Officer

TJ found his passion for recovery after graduating from the Salvation Army ARC in Austin, TX. He started working in recovery soon after in 2012. Since then he has worked in almost every facet of the treatment industry. He holds a level 1 & 2 certificate in Chemical Dependence Counseling along with multiple accreditations in the field of substance abuse recovery. TJ delivers a high energy message through firsthand experience, guiding patients to live up to their full potential by breaking the cycles of addiction, crime, hopelessness, and despair they face in their daily life.


TJ's work with patients from all backgrounds has given him the experience necessary to emphasize the urgency to live a sober lifestyle. His goal is to help others find their unique skills, talents, and life purpose that allows them to successfully transition to a purpose filled and addiction free life.

Tara Mullan, MACP, CCC

Program Director

Tara was born and raised in Whitehorse Yukon a small city in northern Canada.  Since 2016, she has served the marginailzed population providing outreach services and trauma therapy through various non-profit agencies,  Tara is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT treatment modalities and is passionate about helping individuals who have experienced trauma and struggle with substance and alcohol abuse.


Before relocating to Phoenix, Tara worked as a Domestic Violence Outreach counselor, Addiction Counselor at an Indigenous inpatient treatment center, and ran her wn part-time private practice, where she focused on providing EMDR therapy to trauma survivors.

Jeri Long

Business Development Manager

Jeri was born in raised in Gallup, NM. She is Navajo, and is fluent in her language. At the age of 19, Jeri joined the US Army as a generator/UAV mechanic. Jeri honorably discharged from the Army after 10 years of service and a tour to Iraq. Jeri’s passion in the industry started when she became sober and worked as a peer support technician. Jeri has completed her Bachelors program at University of Arizona, and is now working toward her Masters Degree in Counseling. Her life goal is to help as many people find their way to long-term recovery. Jeri helps provide that new hope and meaning through the long road of recovery.

James “Michael” Jacquette

Behavioral Health Technician

James “Michael” is originally from Philadelphia. He’s lived in Arizona for the past 21 years. After struggling with addiction, Michael had the opportunity to get his peer support certification while in treatment. Michael is passionate about this industry because of his own experiences going through treatment and remembering those who facilitated groups and how much of an impact they had on his journey to recovery. Working in this industry is his passion because it’s a lifestyle that shows him gratitude and humility on a daily basis. Michael has been working in this industry for 5 years now and enjoys helping others. Michael is thinking about going back to school to eventually become a therapist or move up on the administrate side of the field. Michael hopes to teach others that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, especially when you are sober.

Lorenzo Henry

Case Manager

Lorenzo was born and raised on the San Carlos Apache Tribe in eastern Arizona. Lorenzo has a passion to help people in addiction because of his own struggles with the disease. He has taken the stand against drugs and alcohol to change his life for the better. Lorenzo has worked the 12 steps of AA and found the true meaning of freedom. While starting his recovery at Milestone, he has been able to work on past traumas with EMDR based therapy. With the support of his peers and staff of Milestone recovery he has been able to have a prosperous recovery journey. Being in recovery has shown Lorenzo the meanings of mindfulness and happiness.

John Cabezas

Co-Founder and COO /CFO

Born in Cuba, John’s family escaped from the Castro regime and came to America as refugees in 1961 .  Raised in Little Havana in Miami FL, John came to the Valley of the Sun in 1985.  As a child refugee, he understands the implications trauma has on one’s life.  He brings years of business acumen to Milestone Recovery and is passionate about the population he serves.  John spent 20 years in corporate American and has been a lifelong entrepreneur. He believes in outside of the box thinking as well as a collaborative and inclusive work environment.  John embraces a holistic approach to recovery.  He is trained as a Recovery Certified Peer Support Specialist to better connect with his clients and brings a boots on the ground attitude to his work. 

Lynn Janson

Co-Founder and CEO

Born in Ohio, Lynn has been a resident of Phx for the past 39 years.  With an extensive background in Business and Marketing she co-founded Milestone Recovery with her husband and business partner John Cabezas.  Addiction has touched her and her family’s lives in very personal and tragic ways over the past 20 years.  Her vision was to create a treatment facility that focused on treating trauma along with addiction to create a holistic experience for the patient.  Lynn strongly believes unresolved past trauma prevents full recovery and leaves a greater risk of relapse.  She and her husband John, strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to heal their past, recover from addiction, and create productive and fulfilling lives.
